As you travel to Geraldton, a 2-hour drive away, I highly recommend stopping at the Greenough Historic Settlement. This incredibly well-preserved site offers a fascinating glimpse into the daily agricultural life of Greenough's residents in the 1860s.

The village comprises 24 locations, each providing a unique perspective on this historical era. Visitors can explore a working mill, visit a charming church, and wander through the simple yet elegant cottages typical of that period. The settlement is a treasure trove of history, offering a rich and immersive experience for those interested in the past.

20 Min – 18.8 Km

Geraldton is a great starting point for exploring the stunning Abrolhos Islands. These 122 coral-rimmed islands are a key feature of the Coral Coast. Offering incredible biodiversity, the islands rival destinations like the Galapagos and Madagascar. Located just over 60 kilometres off Geraldton's coast, numerous charters offer nature tours, fishing, and water sports to the islands.

Hutt Lagoon, known as the "Pink Lake," is a must-see in Yallabatharra. The lake's saltwater gets its distinctive pink colour from a type of algae that produces red food dye. Due to the mix of algae and salt, the lake can appear pink, lilac, or red. The best time to visit the lake is at sunset, when the water reflects the colours of the sky, creating a more vibrant scene.
